05:21 pm - Blink! Hello! My name is Leaper 182. I am in fandom. As you can see, my LJ is Friends-locked. Now, it seems to me that there are people who either want to Friend me (and not my fic journal, darktrent182), or possibly see if I'm someone they might've known once upon a time (which is quite likely, since Leaper 182 wasn't my first name on Ye Olde 'Net). For whatever reason, this is the post where you can freely say, "Excuse me, are you...?" or "I saw you in X comm, and I think you're utterly awesome! Can we do mutual Friending?" or whatever question/comment you wanted to ask/say to me. So... feel free? ::crickets chirp:: Why does this not look promising? 06:21 pm - Wow, an open post! Ack! Because, well, I'm Friends-Only, I should write a letter to my yuletide Santa. So... here it is! Hi, Mr./Miss/Other-Title yuletide Santa! *waves in what she hopes is a cheerful manner* Dear yuletide Santa, First of all, thank you for accepting the daunting challenge of yuletide, and while I know that the assignments are somewhat randomly generated (or something), I realize that my fandoms, and my requests, might be a bit outside of the mainstream. The most important thing about writing my assignments? Don't force anything! If you're not routinely a slash writer, it might be incredibly weird to be faced with a number of slash requests. I love a good story -- slash is more like the cherry on top, if you will. I'll be happy with anything that you're willing to write for me, to be honest. I've never participated in yuletide before, but whenever someone has written a fic for me, I've been pleased with the results. I really hope that you'll be able to write slash for me, but again, if the story flows more naturally without the slash, forego it. ;) If you need any further clarification, feel free to leave a comment on this entry -- I have no idea how to figure out IP addresses, so leaving an anonymous comment should be fine? 01:13 pm - Sekrit Klubhowse!!one!11 Yep, this is me going to Friends Only. Leave a comment on this entry if you want to be added. You'll notice that any previous open entries aren't locked -- I'm not about to go back through my entire journal and lock them all. That's just stupid. If you *really* want to read through them all, what joy is yours. Continuing on, I reserve the right not to friend you. The reasons I do this are wide and varied. One of them could even be the fact that you have some seriously HUGE posts that eat my Friends page. If I don't friend you, there's most likely a reason. I won't lie and say that it's nothing personal, because I do so many things on my LJ, but the truth is, I don't. Look at my profile page if you don't believe me. Sure, you can feel hurt that I have not deigned to friend you, but it's not like being on my Ultra Exclusive Friends list is the end of the world, y'know? People already on my Friends list -- nothing's really going to change. Except possibly maybe hopefully posting more of my fic. The switch to Friends Only is because of the realization that there's people out there that I'd rather not have reading my stuff. The way LJ is set up, there's no way to get rid of them other than this option. It's sad I have to do this in the first place, but them's the breaks.
